Oh /man/. I remember buying the first of Coville's Unicorn books when I was ten or so, and reading it and re-reading it until the spine was white with cracks. And then waiting, and waiting, and /waiting/ for the second book. I think my young mind eventually assumed Bruce Coville had died. Fourteen years later, I know that's not true, but I'm startled to learn there eventually was a second book, with a third coming.

I'm "looking forward" to the new Diana Wynne Jones - "House of Many Ways", but I suspect it doesn't count, as it came out some weeks back, and is currently sitting on my coffee table along with twenty or so other books. But I haven't actually read it, and it's new, so I'm definitely looking forward to it in that sense.

Seth: So jealous! :)

Ingrid: I had a similar experience -- I read the first book in fifth grade or so, around the time when I was starting to move into adult books, so it was one of the last Covilles I read before coming back to YA as an adult. *g* I had always assumed the series had finished and so when I went back to find it and realized that only the next book was out, and that depsite it being ten years later the third was still not out. (Apparently, three and four were supposed to be one book, but it just got too long.)

I definitely recommend picking up the second, if you haven't yet; it's longer and more detailed than the first, and brings in some truly awesome backstory.
